Why should I have my wedding videotaped?
What better opportunity to capture all of your family and friends and create a classic heirloom to be cherished for years to come? We have had many couples tell us that having a professional videotape made was the best thing they did on their wedding day. Pro Video has been taping weddings for many years, and we know how to capture the emotions of your special day.
Won't the cameraman be obtrusive and disruptive?
We have heard horror stories of bright lights during the ceremony and videographers stepping right up between the minister and the couple. The kindest compliment anyone ever gave us was "I barely knew you were there". Pro Video makes every effort to record your wedding unobtrusively and tastefully, using no lights at the ceremony, remaining stationary and silent throughout, and using a documentary style in all of our taping.
How should I choose a videographer?
It's a fact of life that price plays a key role in determining your selection of professionals, and there is a photographer, a videographer, and many other expenses to contend with. That's why we've combined all your wedding video needs into cost effective packages custom designed to fit your budget. We take great pride in our weddings and have many examples taped in the same churches and reception halls as your upcoming event.
Should I sign a contract?
A contract protects both you and your vendors, and should be comprehensive and clear. We don't recommend hiring any services with merely a verbal agreement.
Will you use wireless microphones?
Pro Video uses wireless microphones that offer sound when you're on the altar, during the receiving line, and at the reception, from wherever we are positioned. Usually the groom is chosen to wear the lavaliere "clip-on". Don't be concerned about feeling "bugged" as our microphones are only recording at the appropriate times.
What if my church has restrictions on video?
It is the client's responsibility to find out if there are any restrictions on our videography wherever the event takes place and to notify our studios well in advance. Many churches and synagogues have guidelines, such as no flash photography and no moving around during the ceremony, and understandably so. We strive to place a camera in a position that affords us a clear view of your faces during the ceremony. This is not always possible because some churches restrict all videotaping to the balcony only. Be sure to find out what is allowed before you plan your wedding video.
What about words of wisdom?
This is one of our favorite segments of your reception where we gather congratulations and commentary from your guests. Over the years we have captured many of the most enjoyable memories of the bride and groom from their guests.
Can you send me a sample tape?
Sure, just send us your address and we'll send a demo wedding package. However, we prefer meeting our prospective clients in person and to show several samples of our videos. This allows us to get to know you and for you to get to know us. This is a very personal service that we provide and we feel that we cannot deliver our best work if we do not meet the principal people involved in the event. The great majority of our work is done by referral.
Anything else you can think of?
Whatever studio you choose to videotape your special day, take the time to look at the actual work, and hire someone you feel comfortable with. Don't shop price - we have seen many more expensive videos over the years that do not capture the personality and memories of your wedding day that our inexpensive videos do.
